How do I troubleshoot my HP printer connection?

These steps are helpful when your printer is offline or when you’ve switched wifi networks.

Restart your devices:

  1. Turn the printer off for at least 10 seconds.
  2. Disconnect the printer’s power cord.
  3. Turn off the computer or device you are printing from.
  4. Reconnect the printer’s power cord and turn the printer back on.
  5. Turn on your computer or device again.
  6. Connect the printer to your wifi network.

Restart your printer (touchscreen):

  1. Press wireless icon (antena with rays.)
  2. Touch the setup icon (gear.)
  3. Select ‘Restore Network Defaults’ or ‘Restore Network Settings.’
  4. Press ‘Yes.’
  5. Once settings are restored, touch the back arrow, go to ‘Wireless Settings’ then ‘Wireless Setup Wizard.’
  6. Touch the name of your wireless network.
