Firmware note: in September 2016 an HP firmware update made some OfficeJet Pro 8600/8610/8620/8630-series printers reject non-HP cartridges, and HP then released an optional update that restored support. These cartridges keep their original HP chip. If your printer shows a cartridge error, contact us and we'll help.
Dynamic security: HP firmware can block cartridges that use a non-HP chip. These are remanufactured from genuine HP cartridges and keep the original HP chip rather than a third-party one. If you see a "cartridge problem" or "used cartridge" message, select OK or Continue; if a cartridge isn't recognized, remove it, check that the protective tape is off, wipe the copper contacts and reinstall.
