Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: open the front door, lift the handle on the empty cyan image drum and slide it straight out. Unpack the new drum, remove its protective cover and shipping material without touching the drum surface, slide it into the cyan slot until it locks and close the door.

Supply messages: if the printer reports a non-HP or used supply, confirm on the control panel to keep printing. Keep the drum out of bright light while it is out of the printer.

Drum vs. toner: this is the cyan image drum only. It works with the HP 823A cyan toner cartridge (CB381A), sold separately, and lasts through several toner cartridges.
