Epson 98 / 99 Ink: Common Questions

What is the difference between Epson 98 and Epson 99?

They are the same cartridge in two sizes. Epson 99 is standard capacity (about 500 pages per color); Epson 98 is high capacity (about 545 pages black, about 855 per color). Both fit the same slots in every Artisan 700- and 800-series printer. We currently carry the 99 cyan, magenta, yellow and light cyan.

Which printers use Epson 98 / 99 ink?

Epson Artisan 700, 710, 725, 730, 800, 810, 835 and 837. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will compatible Epson 99 cartridges work in my printer?

Yes. Our cartridges are new, not refilled, ship with a chip and install like an original. Keep automatic firmware updates off so a future update can't block third-party ink. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Do the Artisan printers need all six colors?

Yes. The Artisan 700 and 800 series use six cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan, light magenta) and will not print until each slot is filled. Replace one color at a time as it runs out.
