HP 727 Ink: Common Questions

What is the difference between the 130 ml and 300 ml HP 727 sizes?

Only the amount of ink. HP 727 comes in 40 ml, 130 ml and 300 ml sizes that all fit the same slots, so you can mix them. The 300 ml size costs less per milliliter and is the better buy if you print often.

Which printers use HP 727 ink?

HP DesignJet T920, T930, T1500, T1530, T2500 and T2530 (36-in). HP 727 is not the same as HP 72 (the older T610/T1100/T1200) or HP 730 (T1600/T1700/T2600). Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will remanufactured HP 727 cartridges work in my DesignJet?

Yes. Each cartridge is a genuine HP 727 shell with its original chip, cleaned, refilled and print-tested, so it installs like an original. The printer shows a notice when a refilled cartridge is installed; confirm it on the front panel to keep printing. The HP 727 printhead (B3P06A) is replaced separately. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Single cartridges or the 6-pack?

The 6-pack is the better buy when you are replacing a full set: the 300 ml pack works out to about $74.99 per cartridge and the 130 ml pack to about $39.00, against $79.99 and $41.99 for singles. Buy a single when only one color runs out.
