Lauren Elward, Co-Founder & CEO
Lauren Elward is the co-founder and CEO of Castle Ink, the Long Island, New York-based printer supplies retailer she and her husband, William Elward, started in 2005. Lauren has led the company for more than two decades, growing it from a small home-based operation into a retailer that has served more than 1 million customers, including home users, schools, and small businesses across the country.
With more than 20 years of experience in the printer supplies and e-commerce industry, Lauren oversees Castle Ink's day-to-day operations, including the company's product testing and supplier vetting program. She works closely with the company's quality control team to help ensure that every remanufactured ink and toner cartridge Castle Ink sells meets rigorous page-yield and print-quality standards before it is approved for sale.
Lauren is a frequent resource for journalists and industry publications covering the printer supplies market. She has been quoted in national press on topics including ink-cartridge recycling, the quality of aftermarket cartridges compared with name-brand originals, and strategies small businesses can use to reduce their printing costs.
Alongside William, Lauren also helped create the Castle Ink Recycling Scholarship, a program that encourages college students to participate in cartridge recycling and environmental sustainability initiatives.
Lauren is based on Long Island, New York, where Castle Ink is headquartered.
