Chips, Printer Messages & Installation
Installing: with the machine on, lift the scanner or top cover and wait for the print head carriage to move to the cartridge-change position. Lift out the empty cartridge, take the new one out of its bag, remove the protective cap or seal, and press it into the matching color slot until it seats. Close the cover and let the machine finish its ink check.
"Ink Empty" after a new cartridge: make sure the seal is fully removed and the cartridge is seated in the right color slot, then close the cover. Older Brother fax and MFC machines may need you to confirm a new cartridge on the control panel.
Streaks or faint colors: run the head cleaning from the machine's Ink Management or Maintenance menu, then print a test page. Let the machine rest between cleanings.

Yes. Each color is a separate cartridge, so replace only the one that is empty.
Will this void my printer warranty?
No. Under the U.S. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can't void your printer warranty just because you used a third-party or remanufactured supply. If a non-original supply directly caused damage, that specific repair might not be covered.
How long can I store it?
Store it sealed, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, and use it within about 24 months for best results. Once opened, install it promptly.
