What is the difference between TN223 and TN227?

Brother rates the TN223 black at about 1,400 pages and each color at about 1,300; the TN227 black is rated at about 3,000 pages and each color at about 2,300. Same cartridge body, same slot, so the TN227 costs less per page.

Which printers use Brother TN223 toner?

Do I also need a drum unit?

Yes, eventually. These printers use a separate DR223CL drum unit rated at about 18,000 pages, replaced only when the printer asks for it, not with every toner change.

Will remanufactured cartridges void my printer warranty?

No. Under the U.S. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Brother cannot void your printer warranty just because you used third-party ink or toner. If a cartridge from us ever isn't recognized or prints poorly, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.
