Epson 277 / 277XL Ink: Common Questions

What is the difference between Epson 277 and 277XL?

277XL is the high-yield size: about 500 pages for black and about 740 pages per color, versus roughly 240 and 360 for standard 277. Both sizes fit the same slot. We carry the 277XL size.

Which printers use Epson 277 ink?

Epson Expression Photo XP-850, XP-860, XP-950, XP-960 and XP-970. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will remanufactured Epson 277XL cartridges work in my printer?

Yes. Each cartridge is a genuine Epson shell with its original chip, cleaned, refilled and print-tested, so it installs like an original. Keep automatic firmware updates off, since Epson updates have blocked third-party chips. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Single cartridges or the 6-pack?

These printers need all six colors installed to print, so the 6-pack is the better buy when you are replacing a full set; it works out to about $6.17 per cartridge. Buy singles when only one color runs out.
