HP 26A / 26X Toner: Common Questions

What is the difference between the HP 26A / 26X sizes?

26A prints about 3,100 pages and 26X about 9,000. Both fit the same printers, so 26X costs much less per page. HP's cartridges have the drum built in, so there is no separate drum to buy.

Which printers use HP 26A / 26X toner?

HP LaserJet Pro M402d, M402dn, M402dw, M402n, LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdn, MFP M426fdw. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will compatible HP 26A / 26X toner work in my printer?

Yes. Our cartridges are new, not refilled, and install like an original. Keep automatic firmware updates off so a future HP update can't block third-party toner. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Standard or high-yield: which should I buy?

High-yield (the X or H version) in almost every case. It is the same cartridge body with more toner, so each printed page costs less. Standard-yield only makes sense if you print very little.
