HP 30A / 30X Toner: Common Questions

What is the difference between the HP 30A / 30X sizes?

30A prints about 1,600 pages and 30X about 3,500. Both fit the same printers, so 30X costs less per page. These printers use a separate HP 32A drum (CF232A) rated for about 23,000 pages.

Which printers use HP 30A / 30X toner?

HP LaserJet Pro M203d, M203dn, M203dw, MFP M227d, MFP M227fdn, MFP M227fdw, MFP M227sdn, M15w, MFP M29w. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will compatible HP 30A / 30X toner work in my printer?

Yes. Our cartridges are new, not refilled, and install like an original. Keep automatic firmware updates off so a future HP update can't block third-party toner. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Standard or high-yield: which should I buy?

High-yield (the X or H version) in almost every case. It is the same cartridge body with more toner, so each printed page costs less. Standard-yield only makes sense if you print very little.
