Castle Ink sells compatible HP 36A toner cartridges: the 36A black (CB436A) and a jumbo 36A cartridge rated for about 3,000 pages, which fit the same printers. They fit the HP LaserJet P1505, P1505n, M1120, M1120n, M1522n and M1522nf. Each cartridge is newly manufactured from new components, filled with fresh toner and print-tested. Orders placed by 4 PM ET ship the same business day, shipping is free over $50, and every cartridge is covered by our 1-year 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Firmware note: this printer generation does not block third-party toner, but keeping automatic firmware updates off is still the safe default.

HP 36A Toner: Common Questions

What is the difference between the HP 36A sizes?

36A prints about 2,000 pages and the jumbo version about 3,000 in the same cartridge body. HP's cartridges have the drum built in, so there is no separate drum to buy.

Which printers use HP 36A toner?

HP LaserJet P1505, P1505n, M1120, M1120n, M1522n, M1522nf. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will compatible HP 36A toner work in my printer?

Yes. Our cartridges are new, not refilled, and install like an original. Keep automatic firmware updates off so a future HP update can't block third-party toner. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Standard or jumbo 36A: which should I buy?

The jumbo cartridge if you print regularly. It is the same cartridge body with more toner, so each printed page costs less. The standard 36A only makes sense if you print very little.
