HP 711 / 711XL Ink: Common Questions

What is the difference between HP 711 and 711XL?

HP 711 color cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow) hold 29 ml each. HP 711XL black (CZ133A) is the 80 ml high-capacity black; HP also makes a 38 ml 711 black. All sizes fit the same slots. We sell the 711XL black as part of the 5-pack.

Which printers use HP 711 ink?

HP DesignJet T120, T125, T130, T520, T525 and T530 (24-in and 36-in). HP 711 is not interchangeable with HP 712, which fits the DesignJet T210, T230, T250, T630 and T650. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will remanufactured HP 711 cartridges work in my DesignJet?

Yes. Each cartridge is a genuine HP 711 shell, cleaned, refilled and print-tested, with either the original HP chip or a new aftermarket chip. The printer may show a non-HP ink notice; confirm it on the front panel to keep printing. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Should I buy the OEM-chip or new-chip version?

Both work the same. The OEM-chip version reuses the original HP chip; the new-chip version carries a fresh aftermarket chip. If you have had trouble with one type in the past, choose the other. The 5-pack is the better value when you are replacing a full set: it works out to about $16.19 per cartridge.
