Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: with the printer on, open the ink tank cover, remove the empty black tank, gently shake the new tank a few times, and push it into the black (BK) slot until it seats. Close the cover and let the printer finish checking the ink before you print.

Ink level messages: because this is a remanufactured tank, the printer may show a warning about the ink level or about a non-Canon ink. Confirm the message to continue. If a tank isn't detected, remove it, check that it is fully seated in the correct color slot and reinstall.
