Product Description

A complete set of compatible HP 210X high-yield toner cartridges for the HP Color LaserJet Pro 4201 and Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301 series. One black plus one each of cyan, magenta and yellow — everything you need to refill all four slots at once, for a fraction of what a genuine HP set costs.

$399.95 for the full set, vs. $1,099.95 for the genuine HP 210X set.

Each cartridge ships with a pre-installed smart chip, so there's no chip swapping and no salvaging parts off your old cartridges. Drop them in and print.

Key Benefits

  • A full set, one price. One black and one each of cyan, magenta and yellow — no partial refills, no mismatched color balance halfway through a print run.
  • 24,000 pages total. 7,500 pages from the black and 5,500 from each color at 5% coverage — enough to carry a busy office through the better part of a year.
  • Chips pre-installed. No transferring chips from your old cartridges, no adhesive, no guesswork. Install and go.
  • High-yield across the board. These are the X-series cartridges, not the standard 210A. The black alone prints nearly 4x what a 210A black delivers.
  • Sharp text, consistent color. Precision-milled toner for clean edges on small type and even coverage across solid fills and graphics.
  • Backed by our guarantee. If a cartridge doesn't perform, we replace it or refund you. No hoops.

What's in the Set

Cartridge Part Number Color Page Yield*
HP 210X Black W2100X Black 7,500 pages
HP 210X Cyan W2101X Cyan 5,500 pages
HP 210X Magenta W2103X Magenta 5,500 pages
HP 210X Yellow W2102X Yellow 5,500 pages
Set total 24,000 pages

*Page yields are estimates based on 5% page coverage, the industry-standard test condition. Actual yield varies with what you print — heavy graphics and photos consume toner faster than text documents.

Compatible Printers

This set fits the following HP Color LaserJet Pro models:

Single-function (4200 series)
HP Color LaserJet Pro 4201dn · 4201dne · 4201dw · 4201dwe · 4202dn · 4202dw · 4203cdn · 4203dn · 4203dw

Multifunction (4300 series)
HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301dw · 4301fdn · 4301fdne · 4301fdw · 4301fdwe · 4302dw · 4302fdn · 4302fdw · 4303dw · 4303fdw · 4303cdw

Not compatible with HP Color LaserJet Enterprise "E" series printers. Those managed-print models use a different cartridge and chip architecture. If your model number starts with an E, this set will not work.

Not sure which model you have? Check the label on the front or top of the printer, or print a configuration page from the Reports menu. Contact us and we'll confirm before you order.

Before You Order: A Straight Answer About HP Firmware

We'd rather tell you this up front than have you find out after checkout.

HP periodically pushes firmware updates to the 4201 and 4301 series that cause the printer to reject non-HP chips, usually with a "Non-HP Chip Detected" or "Cartridge Blocked" message. This isn't a defect in the cartridge — it's a change HP makes to the printer, and it can affect a cartridge that has been working fine for months.

The fix is simple, and it takes about a minute:

Turn off automatic firmware updates before you install. On the printer's control panel, go to Menu → Settings → Firmware Update → Auto Update and switch it off. You can also disable it through the printer's Embedded Web Server or the HP Smart app. Once it's off, decline any update prompts the printer shows you.

If your printer has already taken an update that's blocking third-party chips, reach out to us. We'll walk you through your options — and if we can't get you printing, you're covered by our guarantee.

We sell a lot of toner for these printers, and the customers who turn off auto-update almost never have a problem. The ones who don't, sometimes do. Two minutes now saves a headache later.

Our Guarantee

Every Castle Ink cartridge is covered for the life of the cartridge. If it arrives damaged, prints poorly, or your printer won't accept it, email us and we'll send a replacement or refund you — whichever you'd rather have. You don't need to fight with anyone to make that happen.

Using compatible toner does not automatically void your printer warranty. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer generally can't void your warranty simply because you used a third-party supply. HP can decline coverage for damage a supply actually caused — which is exactly why we stand behind ours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this set work with my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdw?
Yes. The 4301fdw is one of the most common printers we ship this set for. It also fits the 4301fdn, 4301fdne, 4301fdwe, and the rest of the 4201, 4202, 4203, 4301, 4302 and 4303 lineup.

Do these cartridges come with chips?
Yes — every cartridge in this set ships with a smart chip already installed. You don't need to move a chip from your old cartridge or buy one separately. Install the cartridge and the printer will recognize it.

What's the difference between HP 210A and HP 210X?
Yield. Both fit the same printers. The 210A is the standard-yield cartridge — roughly 2,000 pages black and 1,800 per color. The 210X is high-yield: 7,500 pages black and 5,500 per color. If you print more than a few hundred pages a month, the X-series costs meaningfully less per page.

How many pages will this set print?
About 24,000 pages total — 7,500 from the black cartridge and 5,500 from each of the three colors, at 5% page coverage. If you print image-heavy documents, expect fewer.

Why does my printer say "Non-HP Chip Detected"?
That message comes from an HP firmware update that blocks third-party chips, not from a fault in the cartridge. Turning off automatic firmware updates before you install prevents it in almost every case. See the firmware section above for the exact steps — and contact us if you're already seeing the message.

Are these new or remanufactured cartridges?
These are newly manufactured compatible cartridges — built to HP's specifications from new components, not refilled OEM shells.

Will using this toner void my HP printer warranty?
Generally, no. See our guarantee section above for the details.

How much will I save versus a genuine HP 210X set?
At $399.95, this set is roughly 64% less than the typical OEM retail price of $1,099.95 for the same four cartridges. For an office printing steadily, that saving compounds with every replacement cycle.

How should I store spare cartridges?
Keep them sealed in the original packaging, upright, somewhere cool and dry away from direct sunlight. Toner doesn't dry out the way ink does, so a sealed set will hold up for a couple of years without trouble.
