Installation

Installing each cartridge: open the printer's front or top cover and pull the empty cartridge out by its handle. Gently rock the new cartridge side to side five or six times to spread the toner, pull the sealing tape straight out if there is one, slide it in until it seats and close the cover.

Replace one color at a time and keep the rest sealed until needed. If a cartridge isn't recognized, take it out, check that all tape is off and reseat it; see our guide to fixing a cartridge that isn't recognized.
