Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: turn the printer off, open the front door and slide out the old imaging drum by its handles. Unpack the new drum, remove the orange protective sheet and any tape without touching the green or blue drum surface, slide it in until it seats and close the door.

Drum messages: if the printer still shows a drum warning, power it off and on once. Keep the drum out of bright light while it is out of the printer.

Drum vs. toner: this is the imaging drum only. It lasts through several toner cartridges, which are sold separately.
