Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: open the cartridge door on your check scanner, ATM module or validation printer and release the empty cartridge. Pull the protective tape off the new cartridge by its tab without touching the nozzles or contacts, seat it in the holder and close the latch.

Printhead built in: this is an HP TIJ 1.0 cartridge with the printhead built in, so a new cartridge also renews the nozzles. If the endorsement prints broken, wipe the nozzle plate gently with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.

Idle machines: if the device sits unused for long periods, run a test endorsement or prime from its maintenance menu before production work.
