Don't mix these up: HP 70 (130 ml) is not the same part as HP 72 (DesignJet T-series) or the larger HP 772 300-ml cartridges used in the Z5200/Z5400. Matte black (C9448A) and photo black (C9449A) are different inks for different paper types, and each has its own slot. Use photo black for glossy and satin media, and matte black for matte and fine-art papers.

Chips, Printer Messages & Installation
Printheads are separate: HP 70 ink cartridges feed HP 70 printheads, which are sold separately. Photo black prints through the HP 70 Photo Black & Light Gray printhead (C9407A).
Printer messages: these are remanufactured from genuine HP 70 cartridges and keep the original HP chip. If the printer shows a non-HP, refilled or expired-ink message, acknowledge it on the front panel to continue printing. If a cartridge isn't recognized, remove it, wipe the chip contacts with a lint-free cloth and reinstall it firmly in the matching color slot.
Before installing: gently shake the cartridge a few times, since pigment ink can settle during storage.
