Don't mix these up: This prints everything in brown. Load it in the head position you want printed in brown. It is a pigment ink, not HP's C6168A, C6169A or C6170A dye spot colors.

Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: open the print head cover on your addressing or coding system and release the empty cartridge. Pull the protective tape off the new cartridge by its tab without touching the nozzles or copper contacts, press it into the holder until it clicks and close the cover.

Printhead built in: this is an HP TIJ 2.5 cartridge (the same body as the HP 45), so the printhead is part of the cartridge and a new cartridge also renews the printhead. If print is broken, wipe the nozzle plate gently with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water and run a purge or prime from the system.

Between jobs: fast-drying and specialty inks dry quickly on the nozzles. Cap the cartridge or leave it in the capped station when the system sits idle.
