Chips, Printer Messages & Installation
Toner/developer cartridge: on these Sharp personal copiers the toner cartridge carries the developer, while the drum (ZT-20DR) is replaced separately when it wears out. There is no chip to reset.
Take the cartridge out of its bag, rock it gently side to side five or six times to spread the toner evenly, then remove any sealing tape and protective strips before installing. Follow the copier's cover diagram to seat it fully.
Run a few test copies after installing; light first copies usually clear up as the toner settles. Still having trouble? Contact us and we'll make it right.
Compatible (Newly Manufactured) vs. Original
Original (OEM) toner cartridges are made by the printer brand and cost the most. Compatible toner cartridges, like this one, are newly manufactured by a third party to the same size and specifications as the original, with new components and fresh toner, rather than being a refilled used shell. Castle Ink sells compatible (newly manufactured) toner and remanufactured inkjet cartridges.
