Installation & Troubleshooting

Installing: open the printer's front cover and remove the toner cartridge if it sits in the drum. Pull the used drum unit out by its handle. Unpack the new drum in dim light, remove the protective sheet or packing pins, and never touch the green drum surface. Slide the drum in until it locks, reinstall the toner cartridge and close the cover. Reset the drum counter if the printer asks.

Drum messages: if the printer still reports a worn drum after installation, reset the drum counter from the printer's maintenance menu (see your printer manual). If it isn't recognized, check that all packing material is off and reseat it firmly.

Repeating marks or light print: make sure the protective sheet is removed and the toner cartridge is seated in the drum, then print a few pages to settle the toner.
