About Canon CLI-8 & PGI-5 Ink Cartridges – PIXMA iP4200/iP4300/iP4500/MP500/MP600/MP800/Pro9000

Castle Ink sells remanufactured Canon CLI-8 ink cartridges in every color: black (0620B002), cyan (0621B002), magenta (0622B002), yellow (0623B002), photo cyan (0624B002), photo magenta (0625B002), red (0626B002) and green (0627B002), plus the PGI-5BK pigment black (0628B002), a PGI-5/CLI-8 5-pack and an 8-color set for the Pro9000. Most PIXMAs in this family use PGI-5BK plus CLI-8 BK/C/M/Y; the photo models add PC and PM, and the Pro9000 uses all eight CLI-8 colors. They fit the Canon PIXMA iP4200, iP4300, iP4500, iP5200, iP5200R, iP6600D, iP6700D, MP500, MP530, MP600, MP610, MP800, MP810, MP830, MP950, MP960, MP970, MX700, MX850 and Pro9000. Each cartridge is a remanufactured original shell, refilled and tested in the U.S. Orders placed by 4 PM ET ship the same business day, shipping is free over $50, and every cartridge is covered by our 1-year 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Canon note: a “the following ink cartridge cannot be recognized” message usually clears by pressing and holding the Stop/Resume button for about 5 seconds; a “non-genuine ink” warning is informational and the printer keeps printing. Keep automatic firmware updates off (why that matters).

Canon CLI-8 & PGI-5 Ink: Common Questions

What is the difference between PGI-5BK and CLI-8BK?

Both are black, and most printers in this family use both. PGI-5BK is a larger pigment black tank for text documents; CLI-8BK is a dye black used in photos alongside the colors. Check which black slots your printer has before ordering.

Which printers use Canon CLI-8 ink?

Canon PIXMA iP4200, iP4300, iP4500, iP5200, iP5200R, iP6600D, iP6700D, MP500, MP530, MP600, MP610, MP800, MP810, MP830, MP950, MP960, MP970, MX700, MX850 and Pro9000. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

How many pages does a CLI-8 cartridge print?

Each 13 ml CLI-8 tank is rated by Canon at roughly 400 to 450 pages, and the 26 ml PGI-5BK at about 360 pages of text, at 5% coverage.

Will remanufactured cartridges void my printer warranty?

No. Under the U.S. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Canon cannot void your printer warranty just because you used third-party ink or toner. If a cartridge from us ever isn't recognized or prints poorly, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.
