Epson 786 / 786XL Ink: Common Questions

What is the difference between Epson 786 and 786XL?

786XL is the high-yield size, rated at about 2,600 pages black and about 2,000 pages per color, roughly two and a half times the standard 786. Both sizes fit the same slot. We carry the 786XL size, which costs far less per page.

Which printers use Epson 786 ink?

Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4630, WF-4640, WF-5110, WF-5190, WF-5620 and WF-5690. The WF-5110, WF-5190, WF-5620 and WF-5690 also accept Epson 788XXL; the WF-4630 and WF-4640 do not. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will remanufactured Epson 786XL cartridges work in my printer?

Yes. Each cartridge is a genuine Epson shell with its original chip, cleaned, refilled and print-tested, so it installs like an original. Keep automatic firmware updates off, since Epson updates have blocked third-party chips. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Single cartridges, 4-pack or 8-pack?

The 4-pack (black, cyan, magenta, yellow) works out to about $12.75 per cartridge and the 8-pack to about $12.50, versus $13.99 for singles. Buy a pack if you print in color regularly and a single when only one color runs out.
