Don't mix these up: Epson 69 (standard) and Epson 68 (high-capacity black) share the same slots. Not for the Stylus CX7400. Epson 68/69 is not the same as Epson 60, 78 or 88, and it does not fit the WorkForce 520, 545, 630, 633, 635, 645, 840, 845, WF-3520/3530/3540 or WF-7010/7510/7520 — those printers take Epson 126 or 127. Model numbers close to the ones above (for example Stylus NX125, NX420 or NX625) also use a different cartridge.

Chips, Printer Messages & Installation
Installing: with the printer on, open the scanner unit or cartridge cover and let the holder move to the replacement position. Shake the new cartridge gently a few times, remove it from the bag and peel off the yellow tape without touching the green chip. Squeeze the tab on the empty cartridge to lift it out, press the new one into the matching color slot until it clicks, and close the cover. The printer charges ink for a minute or two.
"Cartridge cannot be recognized": first confirm your printer is on the compatible list above — a cartridge for a different printer will never be recognized. Then press the cartridge down firmly until it clicks, check the tape is fully removed and restart the printer. Keep automatic firmware updates off, since Epson updates have blocked some third-party chips.
Streaks or gaps: run a nozzle check and head cleaning from the Maintenance menu. Epson printheads are permanent, so let the printer rest a few minutes between cleaning cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
My printer says Epson 69 — will Epson 68 fit?
Yes. Epson 68 is the high-capacity black for the same slot. The chip may report as T069, which is normal.
Will it work in a WorkForce 845 (or 520, 545, 630, 840, WF-3520)?
No. Those WorkForce models take Epson 126 or 127 cartridges. A 68 cartridge will not be recognized in them, and a firmware change won't fix that.
Will this void my printer warranty?
No. Under the U.S. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can't void your printer warranty just because you used a third-party or remanufactured supply. If a non-original supply directly caused damage, that specific repair might not be covered.
How long can I store it?
Store it sealed, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, and use it within about 24 months for best results. Once opened, install it promptly.
