The HP 90X does not fit the LaserJet Enterprise M601; that model takes the standard 90A only.

MICR toner is only needed for checks and other documents with a magnetic MICR line. For everyday printing, the standard cartridge costs less.

What is MICR toner?
MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) toner contains iron oxide. Banks' check-sorting machines read the magnetic characters at the bottom of a check, so checks printed in-house need MICR toner.

Will this void my printer warranty?
No. Under the U.S. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a printer maker can't void your warranty just because you used a compatible toner cartridge. More: Does compatible ink void your printer warranty?.

Will my printer show a message when I install it?
Some printers display a notice that a non-original or previously used toner cartridge is installed. Select OK or Continue and print as usual. If it isn't recognized, remove it, make sure all protective tape is off, wipe the contacts and reinstall it.
