HP+ warning: if your printer was set up with HP+ (common on newer "e" models), HP locks it to Original HP cartridges for the life of the printer, and no remanufactured or compatible cartridge will work. Check before you order.
Chip: these cartridges carry a new aftermarket chip in place of the original HP chip. The printer may show a "non-HP chip" notice; select OK or Continue. If a cartridge isn't recognized, remove it, check that the protective tape is off, wipe the copper contacts and reinstall.
Firmware updates: HP firmware updates have been known to block non-HP chips. Turn off automatic updates in the printer's settings or HP Smart before you install, and see how to keep HP firmware updates from blocking your ink. If your printer has already been updated, choose the OEM Chip 4-pack.
