Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Chip: HP 70 cartridges carry a chip that the DesignJet reads when the cartridge is inserted. This remanufactured cartridge keeps its original HP chip. The printer may show a message that a non-HP or previously used cartridge is installed; acknowledge it to continue printing. The ink-level gauge may read differently than with a new original cartridge.

Installation: Slide the cartridge into the slot marked light cyan until it seats firmly. If the printer doesn't accept it, remove it, wipe the chip contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reinsert it. Changing a cartridge does not require replacing the printhead.
