Additional Details About Staples Ink Cartridge RecyclingEach Base Rewards member may recycle up to 10 cartridges per month, and each Plus and Premier Rewards member may recycle up to 20 cartridges per month of any used ink or toner cartridge sold at any retail store in the U.S. or on staples.com® and receive $2 back in recycling rewards per cartridge. In store, the member must be physically present at the store when the cartridges are turned in for recycling and a membership account is identified. Online, the member can log in at staplesrewards.com with their membership account to gain access to ink and toner recycling. Qualifying cartridges recycled online can take up to 10 business days for processing.

When did Staples launch their ink and toner recycling program?Staples launched their Ink and toner recycling program in November, 2013. The online program enables Staples Rewards members to recycle empty ink and toner cartridges by printing a pre-paid shipping label to send their cartridges in for recycling and receive $2 back in Staples Rewards® for each one.
How big is the recycling program at Staples?Earlier this year, Staples announced that it has recycled 350 million ink and toner cartridges since 2005, averaging over 60 million cartridges per year in the past three years. Through the cartridge recycling program, Staples has recycled 182 million pounds of plastics and metals, roughly the equivalent weight of an aircraft carrier or 400 times the Statue of Liberty.
Is there an ink recycling program for businesses?Yes, Staples also offers recycling for businesses. Not only does Staples recycle all of your ink and toner cartridges, regardless of brand, they give you three easy ways to do it.
1. Driver pickup program: Our drivers will collect your cartridges the next time a delivery is made.
2. Prepaid return mailing label: Mail your cartridges back for free. Simply print your label at StaplesTechnologySolutions.com/TonerRecycling.
3. Pallet pickup from a loading dock: For large quantities (300 cartridges - 100/pallet, min. 3 pallets), please email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a loading dock pick up.
