Will Not Fit

The Canon PIXMA PRO-10 uses Canon PGI-72 pigment tanks, and the PIXMA PRO-1 uses Canon PGI-29. Neither takes CLI-42.
CLI-42 is not the same as consumer PIXMA CLI-221, CLI-226, CLI-251 or CLI-281 tanks.

Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: open the top cover and wait for the print head holder to move to the replacement position. Press the tab on the empty tank and lift it out. Remove the orange protective cap from the new tank, set it into the slot that matches its color label and press down on the top until the tank clicks and its lamp lights red.

Printer messages: the PRO-100 may show a notice that a non-genuine or refilled tank is installed, or that the ink level can't be detected. Confirm the message to keep printing. If a tank isn't recognized, reseat it and make sure the cap is off.

What is the difference between Canon PGI and CLI ink?

PGI tanks hold pigment ink; CLI tanks hold dye ink. CLI-42 is an all-dye set, which gives the PRO-100 its glossy photo color. The PRO-10 (PGI-72) and PRO-1 (PGI-29) use pigment ink.

Can I use off-brand ink in my Canon printer?

Yes. Remanufactured CLI-42 tanks are original Canon tanks refilled and tested. Under the U.S. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, using them can't by itself void your printer warranty.

How much ink is in each tank?
