Quick answer: The Canon PIXMA MG2220 uses two cartridges: a PG-240 black and a CL-241 tri-color. The high-yield PG-240XL and CL-241XL fit too, and so does the extra-high-yield PG-240XXL black. Castle Ink stocks remanufactured PG-240XL Black, PG-240XXL Black, CL-241XL Color and a 2-pack.

How Do I Replace the Ink in the Canon PIXMA MG2220?

Make sure the printer is on, then open the paper output tray and the front cover. The cartridge holder moves into the replacement position.
Push the empty cartridge down until it clicks, then remove it.
Unpack the new cartridge and gently remove the orange protective tape, without touching the contacts or nozzles.
Insert it at a slant into the slot marked for it on the holder and push it up until it clicks.
Close the front cover and wait for the automatic head cleaning to finish before printing.

Does the MG2220 use PG-245/CL-246?

No. It uses PG-240 (or 240XL/240XXL) black and CL-241 (or 241XL) color. PG-245/CL-246 are for later models such as the MG2420 and MG2520.

Why won't it recognize my new cartridge?

Usually there's protective tape left on, the contacts are dirty or the cartridge isn't seated. Remove it, check the tape, wipe the contacts and push it in until it clicks.

It warns that the ink level is unknown after a refill.

The printer can't track the ink in refilled or some third-party cartridges. Hold Stop/Resume for at least five seconds to turn off detection for that cartridge and keep printing.

Is the MG2220 wireless?
