HP 934 / 935 Ink: Common Questions

What is the difference between HP 934 / 935 and 934XL / 935XL?

HP 934 is the black cartridge and HP 935 the colors; the XL versions hold more ink. 934XL black prints about 1,000 pages (standard 934 about 400) and each 935XL color about 825 (standard 935 about 400). Both sizes fit the same slots. We carry the XL sizes, which cost less per page.

Which printers use HP 934 / 935 ink?

HP OfficeJet 6812, 6815 and 6820, and OfficeJet Pro 6220, 6230, 6830 and 6835. They look like HP 932/933 and HP 950/951 but are not interchangeable. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will remanufactured HP 934XL / 935XL cartridges work in my printer?

Yes, unless the printer was set up with HP+ or is enrolled in Instant Ink, in which case it accepts only Original HP cartridges. Otherwise each cartridge is a genuine HP shell with its original chip, cleaned, refilled and print-tested, and installs like an original. If a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Single cartridges or the 4-pack?

The 4-pack (934XL black plus 935XL cyan, magenta and yellow) works out to about $7.75 per cartridge and is the better buy when you are replacing a full set. Buy singles when only one color runs out. The 934XL MICR cartridge is magnetic ink for printing checks.
