What Ink Does the HP DesignJet T630 Use?

The other one to avoid is HP 711. That fits the older DesignJet T120 and T520. The cartridges look similar enough that cross-listing is rampant, and they do not interchange.

Large-format ink is priced and sold by volume rather than page yield. The 80 ml black is the sensible buy on any plotter doing regular drawing work — black is what you actually consume.
If you shop internationally, avoid HP 712B (3ED28A and 3ED29A). It is a separate black sold in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Thailand and Malaysia, and it appears in HP's worldwide spec sheets alongside the US parts, which is how US buyers end up with it.
About the HP DesignJet T630
An entry-level plotter in 24-inch and 36-inch widths, print only, no scanner. Around 30 seconds per D-size page and roughly 76 D prints an hour, 1 GB of memory, up to 2400 by 1200 dpi, gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, dual-band Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct.
The T630 is the slower, lower-cost sibling of the T650 — same ink, same printhead, same media handling. HP lists both original models (24-inch 5HB09A and 36-inch 5HB11A) as discontinued; the 36-inch is still sold under a new number, 5HB11D. HP 712 ink is current and easy to get.

Roll feed not detecting paper
A common fault on the T600 series. Reseat the roll tightly on the spindle first — a loose roll is the usual cause, and packing the spindle wings with folded paper is a widely used field fix. Then try a different roll, since transparent or unusual media can defeat the sensor entirely. Then check the paper switch behind the sheet loader for trapped scraps.
Media loads but will not advance
Clean the line sensor lens. Printhead leakage puts ink on the service-station brush, which transfers to the sensor and blinds it. This one looks like a hardware failure and usually is not.
Banding, incomplete images or blurry lines
Run the printhead cleaning routine, then a printhead alignment, then calibrate colour for the specific media loaded. If cleaning will not recover it, 3ED58A is the part. We sell HP 712 ink, not the printhead, so get it from HP or a large-format parts supplier.
Paper mismatch and roll jams
Make sure the media type set on the front panel matches what is physically loaded. A mismatch changes both the drying time and the cutter behaviour, and produces jams that look random.
