Quick answer: The HP OfficeJet 7612 Wide Format e-All-in-One uses four cartridges: an HP 932 black and HP 933 cyan, magenta and yellow. The high-yield 932XL and 933XL fit the same slots. Castle Ink stocks remanufactured 932XL Black and 933XL Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, plus a 4-pack with one of each.

It takes the same ink as the OfficeJet 6600, the OfficeJet 6700 Premium and the OfficeJet 7110, 7510 and 7610 wide-format models. U.S. cartridges end in AN. European ones end in AE, and HP cartridges are region-locked, so an AE cartridge generally won't work in a U.S. printer.

Discontinued. Printerland in the UK marks the OfficeJet 7612 as discontinued and points buyers to the OfficeJet Pro 9730e, and Que Choisir in France says it is no longer sold. We couldn't confirm a U.S. replacement named by HP. HP 932 and 933 cartridges are still sold.

XL yields come from HP's datasheet; standard yields from seller listings. HP's own 933XL page lists the 7612 next to the OfficeJet 6600, 7110 and 7510. HP has pushed firmware updates affecting 932 and 933 cartridges in the past. Our remanufactured cartridges reuse HP chips, and the 4-pack is labeled "OEM chip."

Is 932XL Worth It?

Yes. The 932XL prints about 1,000 pages against 400 for the standard 932, and the 933XL about 825 against 330. On October 24, 2026, Quill listed HP's 932XL black at $60.99 (about 6.1¢ a page) and 4inkjets at $65.99. The HP Store on Walmart had the 933XL cyan at $27.92 (about 3.4¢ a page). Our remanufactured 932XL black is $17.95 (about 1.8¢ a page) and each 933XL color is $16.95 (about 2.1¢ a page). The 4-pack is $64.99, $3.81 less than four singles.

How Do I Replace the Ink in the HP OfficeJet 7612?

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop moving.
  3. Press the tab on the front of the empty cartridge to release it, then pull it out.
  4. Unwrap the new 932 or 933 cartridge and slide it into its color-coded slot until it clicks.
  5. Close the access door, let the printer finish initializing, and run an alignment if it asks.

Which Other Printers Use HP 932 and 933?

The OfficeJet 6100, 6600 and 6700 Premium, and the OfficeJet 7110, 7510 and 7610 Wide Format. The 7610 is the 7612's closest sibling.

What OfficeJet 7612 owners ask

These are the questions that come up most for this printer in HP's support community and owner reviews, answered in our words.

Does the 7612 print 11 x 17 or 13 x 19?

Yes. It prints borderless up to 13 x 19 inches from its single 250-sheet tray. The flatbed scans up to 11 x 17, and the document feeder takes up to legal size.

Is two-sided printing automatic?

Yes. HP's 7612 datasheet says the two-sided printing accessory comes in the box. On the 7610, the same accessory (C7G18A) is optional, and HP's shared support page calls it optional for both, so check that yours has it fitted at the back.

Can I mix standard and XL cartridges?

Yes, both sizes fit the same slots. Some 6700 Premium owners have reported print system errors after switching between XL and standard 933, so if one appears, reseat the cartridge and power cycle the printer.

It says the printhead is missing or has failed.

Plug the printer straight into the wall. With it on, take out the cartridges, unplug it, wait two to three minutes, then hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in, reseat the printhead, clean its contacts and reinstall the cartridges. If the error keeps coming back, the printhead is removable and can be replaced.

OfficeJet 7612 quirks worth knowing

  • HP rates it at up to 15 ISO pages a minute in black and 8 in color, on A4.
  • It won't print if any one cartridge is empty. There's no black-only fallback.
  • Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only. It also has Ethernet, USB, a USB host port, AirPrint and wireless direct.
  • It's big and heavy for a home printer, about 38.8 pounds by one retailer's listing, and Que Choisir notes it's slow to power on.
