The Dell E514dw is a monochrome laser printer that uses the Dell P7RMX (593-BBKD) high-yield black toner cartridge, or the standard-yield Dell CVXGF (593-BBKC). It also takes a separate drum unit, the Dell C2KTH (593-BBKE), which is a different part from the toner.
Dell sells these cartridges under two names at once — a part code (P7RMX) and an order SKU (593-BBKD) — and listings use them interchangeably. They are the same cartridge. Check the yield, not the code, when you are comparing prices.

The same toner and drum fit four Dell mono lasers: the E310dw, the E514dw, and the E515dn and E515dw. No other Dell printers share them; Dell's color E-series models use different supplies.
The E514dw prints, copies and scans, from the flatbed glass or a 35-sheet document feeder, and connects over USB, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct or 10/100 Ethernet. It has no fax, which is the main thing separating it from the E515dn and E515dw. Supplies are identical across all of them. Dell has exited the printer business, which makes OEM cartridges for these machines steadily harder to find and more expensive when you do — compatible cartridges are increasingly the practical way to keep an E-series printer running.
How to Replace the Toner
- Power on the Dell E514dw and open the front cover.
- Lift out the drum and toner assembly together, then press the green release lever to separate the toner cartridge from the drum.
- Unbox the new cartridge and rock it gently 5–6 times end to end to loosen the toner.
- Clip the new toner cartridge into the drum unit until it locks, then slide the assembly back into the printer.
- Close the front cover. If a replace-toner message stays on after the new cartridge is in, switch the printer off, unplug it, and reseat the toner in the drum.
Troubleshooting Tips
"Toner cartridge error" or a cartridge not detected: Reseat the toner in the drum unit until it clicks. On this two-piece design, a toner that is not fully clipped into the drum is the first thing to check.
Repeating marks or grey bands down the page: That is the drum unit (Dell C2KTH), not the toner. It is rated at roughly 12,000 pages, so it normally outlasts four or five high-yield cartridges.
Faded or patchy print: Remove the toner cartridge and rock it side to side to redistribute what is left, then reinstall. This can buy a few extra pages at the end of a cartridge.
Paper picks up two sheets at a time: Clean the pickup roller with a lightly damp lint-free cloth and fan the paper stack before loading.

- It has an ID Copy mode that puts both sides of an ID card on one sheet, plus N-in-1 copying and 25–400% zoom.
- Wi-Fi Direct runs alongside regular Wi-Fi, but only one device can connect over Wi-Fi Direct at a time.
- Dell's spec sheet contradicts itself on the standard cartridge, giving 1,200 pages in one place and “up to 2,000” in another. Retail listings use 1,200, and so do we.
- Genuine Dell supplies are scarce and oddly priced. When we checked, 4inkjets listed the OEM 1,200-page toner at $115.99, the 2,600-page toner at $101.99 and the drum at $128.99, all backordered. The parts also go by other codes: PVTHG for the high-yield toner and WRX5T for the drum.
