What Toner Does the Xerox VersaLink C405 Use?

The Xerox VersaLink C405 is a color laser all-in-one that uses the Xerox 106R035xx toner cartridge series (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow), plus a drum cartridge kit (108R01121) with four imaging units, one per color, and a waste cartridge (108R01124).

All three capacities fit the same printer, and the bigger ones cost less per page. These are the U.S. part numbers. Europe and Latin America use different 106R035xx numbers (106R03528, for example, is the European extra-high-capacity black), so check the number on your old cartridge before ordering. How to Replace the Toner
- Open the front cover of the Xerox VersaLink C405.
- Locate the color toner cartridge that needs replacing.
- Pull the empty cartridge straight out.
- Unbox the new cartridge and remove the protective seal or tape.
- Slide the new cartridge in until it seats, then close the front cover.
Troubleshooting Tips
"Replace toner" message appears too early: Xerox cartridges use a chip-based counter. Remove and reseat the cartridge to confirm the reading before ordering a replacement.
Faded, streaky, or spotted prints: Gently rock the toner cartridge to redistribute toner. If streaks persist across cartridge changes, one of the four imaging units in the drum kit may be reaching end of life.
Colors look muddy or misaligned: Run the color registration/calibration routine from the printer's control panel menu.
Paper jams: Check the paper path and rollers for debris, and make sure paper is loaded correctly and not overfilled.

Xerox uses different part numbers by region. U.S. cartridges are 106R03500–03503, 106R03512–03515 and 106R03524–03527; Europe uses 106R03516–03519 and 106R03528–03531, and Latin America uses other 106R035xx numbers. Match the region your printer was sold in.
Why did the first toners run out so fast?
The toners that come in the box are starter cartridges, rated by Xerox at about 3,000 pages black and 2,000 pages per color.
Is there a waste toner box to replace?
