HP 564 Ink: Common Questions

What is the difference between the standard and XL HP 564 cartridges?

HP 564 black prints about 250 pages, photo black about 130 and each color about 300; 564XL black prints about 550 pages, photo black about 290 and each color about 750. They share the same cartridge body and slot, so you can move between sizes freely.

Which printers use HP 564 ink?

HP Photosmart 5510, Photosmart 5514, Photosmart 5520, Photosmart 6510, Photosmart 6520, Photosmart 7510, Photosmart 7520, Photosmart 7525, Photosmart B110, Photosmart C310, Photosmart C410, DeskJet 3510, DeskJet 3520, OfficeJet 4620. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will remanufactured HP 564 cartridges work in my printer?

Yes. None of the HP 564 printers are HP+ models, so there is no ink lock to worry about. Keep automatic firmware updates off as a precaution, and if a cartridge from us isn't recognized, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.

Standard or XL: which should I buy?

XL in almost every case. The XL cartridges are the same physical size and fit the same slot, but hold more ink, so each printed page costs less. Standard cartridges only make sense if you print very rarely, since ink can dry out over long idle periods.
