That last point is where almost everyone goes wrong, and the confusion is completely understandable. HP's older ENVY 6000 and 6400 machines — the 6055e, 6455e, 6458e — really do take HP 67. The ENVY 6155e belongs to the newer ENVY 6100e series, which moved to HP's 68 family. Adjacent model numbers, different cartridge. If a listing offers you HP 67 for a 6155e, it is wrong, and the cartridge will not seat.

Why there is no Castle Ink cartridge for this printer
We don't sell HP 68 or HP 68e. It is a newer cartridge family, and HP lists the ENVY 6155e as a dynamic-security printer, which means cartridges with non-HP chips can be blocked with or without HP+. We would rather say so than sell you a cartridge that may not work, or an HP 67 that won't fit.
For this printer, buy Original HP 68 black (7FP21TN, about 160 pages) and tri-color (7FP20TN, about 120 pages). If you print mostly text, the HP 68e EvoMore black (7FP22TN, about 320 pages) gives you twice the pages of the standard black.

Those standard yields are low, and that is not a misprint — a two-cartridge printer at this price is built to be cheap to buy rather than cheap to feed. HP's U.S. store rates the 68e black at about 320 pages, twice the standard 68 black, so if you print regularly it is the black to buy.
Read this before you buy any third-party ink
The ENVY 6155e is an HP+ eligible printer, and this matters more than anything else on this page. If you accepted HP+ during setup, HP requires Original HP cartridges to operate the machine — compatible and remanufactured cartridges will not work, and that is a contractual lock rather than a fault you can clear. HP+ printers also need an active internet connection to print.
Declining HP+ does not mean any cartridge will work, either. HP lists the 6155e as a dynamic-security printer, so cartridges with non-HP chips can be blocked whether or not HP+ is on. If you are not sure which you chose, check whether the printer demands an HP account and internet access to function. About the HP ENVY 6155e
The ENVY 6155e is a compact home all-in-one: print, scan and copy, with automatic two-sided printing and a 100-sheet input tray. It sits in HP's ENVY 6100e series with the 6152e. HP 68 also fits the ENVY 6552e, 6555e and 6558e and the DeskJet 2955 and 4355.
Rated speeds are around 10 pages per minute black and 7 in color, which is modest but honest for the class. Connectivity is dual-band Wi-Fi with AirPrint and Mopria. It also has USB, but no Ethernet. "Cartridge problem" or "non-genuine cartridge"
First check you are holding an HP 68 and not an HP 67 — that is the most common cause by a distance. If the part number is right, remove the cartridge, wipe the copper contacts with a dry lint-free cloth, and click it firmly back in until it stops. Then power-cycle: off, unplug at the wall for 60 seconds, back on. If the printer is enrolled in HP+ and the cartridge is not Original HP, no amount of reseating will clear it.
Streaky or missing lines
Run a printhead cleaning from HP Smart or the printer's own tools menu, then print a test page. Two cleaning cycles is the sensible limit — each one uses ink, and a third rarely fixes what the second did not. See faded or streaky prints.
Prints only in black, or only in color
This printer supports single-cartridge mode, so it will keep going with one cartridge installed. An HP rep on Best Buy's Q&A confirmed it will print with one working cartridge, for example black-only when the color is empty. Treat it as a stopgap.
