Installation & Troubleshooting
Installing: open the scanner unit or printer cover and let the carriage move to the ink replacement position (on some models press the ink button or choose Replace Ink Cartridge from the menu). Squeeze or lift the tab on the empty cartridge and remove it. Gently shake the new cartridge four or five times, remove the yellow tape only, and press it straight down into its slot until it clicks. Close the cover and let the printer finish charging the ink.
"Cartridge not recognized" or an ink-level warning: take the cartridge out, wipe the contacts with a dry lint-free cloth, make sure all tape is off and reseat it until it clicks. If the printer warns that the ink level can't be detected, confirm the prompt to keep printing.
Streaks or missing colors: run the nozzle check and print-head cleaning from the printer's maintenance menu, then print a test page.
