Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: open the printer's front cover, pull the empty toner cartridge for that color out of its slot, then rock the new cartridge gently side to side a few times. Remove the packing seal, slide it into the matching color slot until it locks and close the cover.

No chip to reset: the Color LaserWriter 12/600 PS and 12/660 PS do not read chips on toner. If the printer still reports low toner, reseat the cartridge firmly.

Streaks or faint color: the photoconductor drum (M3761G/A) and fuser oil (M3755G/A) are separate parts with their own life. If streaks continue with fresh toner, the drum may be due.
