Installation

Installing each cartridge: open the scanner unit or printer cover and let the carriage move to the ink replacement position (on some models press the ink button or choose Replace Ink Cartridge from the menu). Squeeze or lift the tab on the empty cartridge and remove it. Gently shake the new cartridge four or five times, remove the yellow tape only, and press it straight down into its slot until it clicks. Close the cover and let the printer finish charging the ink.

Replace one color at a time and keep the rest sealed until needed. If a cartridge isn't recognized, take it out, check that all tape is off and reseat it; see our guide to fixing a cartridge that isn't recognized.
