Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: with the printer on, open the access door and wait for the carriage to stop. Lift the latch over the empty cartridge, remove it, take the new cartridge out of its pouch and push it into the carriage until the latch clicks. Close the door; the printer checks the cartridge before printing.

"Ink cartridge not recognized": remove the cartridge, wipe the contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reinstall it firmly. Kodak printheads are separate on these models, so a new cartridge does not replace the head.
