How to Refill the Epson EcoTank ET-2750

  1. Open the ink tank cover on the front-right of the printer.
  2. Unlock the colored cap for the empty tank.
  3. Hold the matching 502 bottle upright above the tank and let it auto-fill until it stops.
  4. Re-cap the empty bottle and close the tank cap.
  5. Repeat for each empty color, close the cover, and reset the ink levels for the colors you refilled when the screen asks.

Troubleshooting Tips

"Refill ink" message persists: Reset the ink levels in the printer menu after refilling.

Faded prints: Print a nozzle check, then run a head cleaning from the printer's maintenance menu or Epson's printer software.

Bottle won't fit the tank: The bottle necks are keyed by color, so check that the bottle matches the tank's color and that it is a 502 bottle.

Air bubbles in the tube: Run a head cleaning cycle to clear lines after a refill.

What EcoTank ET-2750 owners ask

These are the questions that come up most for this printer on retailer Q&A pages, Epson's support pages and owner reviews, answered in our words.

Do I fill the tanks before or after switching it on for the first time?

Before. Fill the tanks first, then plug in and power up. Each bottle neck is keyed so it only fits the matching color.

Why does the ink in the box seem to run out sooner than the bottle ratings?

Epson rates the starter ink lower (up to 6,500 black and 5,200 color pages) than replacement 502 bottles (7,500 and 6,000), because some of it primes the system during setup.

I cleaned the head three times and still get white lines. What next?

Epson has a dedicated support article for this on the ET-2750 page. Owners report that repeated cleanings sometimes fix banding only for a while, and some units needed service.

The Windows 11 installer stalls during setup. Is that a known problem?

Yes. Epson posts a notice about it on the ET-2750 support page and has a separate article for Windows 11 24H2 installs.

EcoTank ET-2750 quirks worth knowing

  • Epson's warranty goes from 12 to 24 months if you register the printer and use genuine Epson ink.
  • It has an SD/microSD card slot and Alexa voice printing, which is unusual on an entry-level EcoTank.
  • Paper loads only from a single 100-sheet rear tray, so switching to envelopes or photo paper means taking the plain paper out. There is no document feeder.
  • Some owners report firmware updates leaving the printer unresponsive or stuck in a "Set Jig" state, so it is worth holding off on updates if the printer is working.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the ET-2750 use cartridges? No — it uses 502 refill bottles.

How long does a set last? Epson rates replacement 502 bottles at about 7,500 pages (black) and 6,000 pages (each color). Epson's "up to 2 years" claim applies to the ink in the box, at about 150 pages a month.

Can I use other Epson ink? No — only Epson 502 bottles are designed for this tank.

Will third-party 502 bottles work? Yes. The ET-2750 has no cartridge chip to reject; it tracks ink with a counter that you reset after refilling. We sell compatible Epson 502 bottles. Note that Epson's 24-month warranty extension requires genuine Epson ink.

What if the tank overflows? Wipe with a lint-free cloth and continue normally.
