How to Refill the Epson EcoTank ET-4760
- Open the ink tank cover on the front-right of the printer.
- Unlock the colored cap for the empty tank.
- Hold the matching 502 bottle upright above the tank and let it auto-fill until it stops.
- Re-cap the empty bottle and close the tank cap.
- Repeat for each empty color, then close the cover. The printer will prime automatically.
Troubleshooting Tips
Faded prints: Print a nozzle check, then run a head cleaning from Maintenance on the Home screen.
Bottle keys won't unlock the tank: Use only Epson 502 bottles — keyed to prevent the wrong ink color.
Air bubbles in the tube: Run a head cleaning cycle to clear lines after a refill.

Go to Home, then Maintenance, then Reset Ink Levels, and reset each color you filled. The printer estimates ink use rather than measuring it, so trust the lines on the tanks.
I poured the wrong color into a tank. What now?
Stop and contact Epson Support before you print. That is Epson's only guidance for this.
Nozzle checks still show gaps after several cleanings.
Try Power Cleaning, but only if every tank is at least one-third full. It uses a lot of ink, and if it doesn't help, Epson says to wait at least 12 hours before running it again.
Does it have a maintenance box I can replace?
Yes, the T04D100 ink maintenance box. A separate ink pad for borderless printing is not user-replaceable; when it reaches the end of its life, the printer needs Epson service.
Does it come with a USB or Ethernet cable?
No. Epson doesn't include either cable, so buy one if you won't use Wi-Fi.
EcoTank ET-4760 quirks worth knowing
- The bottles in the box are full retail size (127 mL black, 70 mL each color), so your first refill is a long way off.
- The 30-sheet document feeder scans one side only, so it can't copy two-sided originals automatically. Tom's Guide also found its two-sided prints looked lighter.
- There is one 250-sheet paper tray and no second tray, but it takes custom paper up to 8.5 x 47.2 in.
- Epson's support page carries a notice about the Windows 11 installer stalling during setup, so check it before you install the driver.
