Should I buy Epson 822 or 822XL for the WF-4830?
822XL for most people. 822XL is rated for about 1,100 pages per cartridge, about three times the standard black (350 pages) and more than four times each standard color (240 pages), so it's the better value for regular office printing. Can I mix standard and XL cartridges?
Yes. Each cartridge is read separately, so any mix of 822 and 822XL works.
What other printers use Epson 822 ink?

With the printer on, start the replacement from the control panel (or when the printer prompts you) and open the ink cartridge cover it shows. My cartridges stopped being recognized right after a firmware update.
Epson's own FAQ says its firmware updates are designed around genuine Epson cartridges, so non-Epson cartridges may not be recognized afterward, and Epson's fix is to install genuine ones. If you use non-Epson cartridges, turn off automatic firmware updates before you install them.
Pages are feeding two at a time.
Epson's advice is to fan the paper, keep the stack below the tab on the edge guide, make sure the paper size and type settings match what is loaded, and use fresh paper that isn't curled.
Does it scan both sides of a page in one pass?
Yes. The WF-4830's 50-sheet document feeder scans both sides in a single pass, which is unusual on a printer in this price range.
How much paper does it hold, and what sizes?
It has two 250-sheet front trays, 500 sheets in total, and it takes paper up to legal size.
Setup never asked for my Wi-Fi password.
