What Ink Does the HP OfficeJet 200 Use?

How to Replace Ink in the HP OfficeJet 200

1. Turn the printer on. If it's running on battery, make sure there's enough charge or plug it in, since the carriage needs power to move.
2. Open the front cover. The carriage slides to the center.
3. Push down on the empty cartridge to release it, then pull it toward you and out.
4. Unwrap the new cartridge and pull off the plastic tape over the nozzles. Don't touch the nozzles or copper contacts.
5. Slide the cartridge into its slot at a slight upward angle, black on the right and tri-color on the left, then push until it snaps in.
6. Close the cover and print the alignment page when the printer asks for it.

Troubleshooting Tips

Cartridge not recognized: Remove the cartridge, check that the nozzle tape is fully off, gently wipe the copper contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reinstall it. More fixes are in printer says ink cartridge not recognized.

Faded or streaky prints after the printer sat in a hot car: Heat and long idle periods dry out the nozzles on the cartridge. Run "Clean Printhead" from the printer's Tools menu or the HP Smart app once or twice. If that doesn't clear it, see faded or streaky prints.

Printer won't power up to change cartridges: The OfficeJet 200 needs a charged battery or AC power to move the carriage. Plug it in first.

Many HP printers that take HP 62 can limp along in single-cartridge mode if one cartridge is removed, but print quality and speed drop and it isn't meant for everyday use. Keep both cartridges installed and replace the empty one as soon as you can.

Do HP 62 and HP 62XL cartridges fit the same slot?
Yes. XL just holds more ink. You can mix a 62XL black with a standard 62 tri-color, or the other way round.

Is the OfficeJet 200 the same as the OfficeJet 250?
