The DeskJet 3510 belongs to the DeskJet 3510 e-All-in-One series (3510, 3511, 3512, 3520 and 3522). The same HP 564 / 564XL cartridges fit the DeskJet 3520, the OfficeJet 4610 and 4620, and HP 564 Photosmart models such as the Photosmart 6520.
The DeskJet 3510 is a compact wireless e-All-in-One with print, scan and copy. Its four separate ink cartridges mean you only replace the color that runs out.
Do not confuse the DeskJet 3510 with the DeskJet 3755 or 3772, which use HP 65 cartridges. The 3510 uses HP 564.

How to Replace the Ink in the HP DeskJet 3510
- Turn the printer on and open the ink cartridge access door. Wait for the carriage to stop.
- Press the tab on the front of the cartridge you are replacing and lift it out of its slot. Each color sits in its own labeled slot.
- Unwrap the new cartridge and twist off the orange cap. Do not touch the copper contacts.
- Push the cartridge into its matching color slot until the tab clicks.
- Close the door and let the printer finish initializing before you print.
Troubleshooting Tips
"Cartridge problem" or "incompatible cartridge": Take the cartridge out, check that the orange cap is off, wipe the copper contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and push it back in until it clicks. Our HP cartridge not recognized guide covers every other HP message.
"Printhead problem" or faded color: HP 564 printers use a separate printhead that the cartridges plug into. Run "Clean Printhead" from the Tools menu, and if a color stays faded after two cleanings, power the printer off, wait a minute and try again.
Replacing one color at a time: Each color is a separate cartridge, so you only replace the one that runs out. The printer will not print until every slot has a cartridge in it.
