What Ink Does the HP ENVY 5014 Use?
Last Updated:Quick answer: The HP ENVY 5014 uses two HP 65 cartridges: one black and one tri-color. The high-yield HP 65XL versions fit too. In July 2026 HP merged HP 65 and HP 63 into a single line called HP 63/65, which also fits the 5014. Castle Ink stocks remanufactured 65XL Black, 65XL Tri-color and a 65XL combo pack.
The 5014 is a Best Buy version of HP's ENVY 5000 series and takes the same ink as the ENVY 5055, 5000 and 5052. HP 302 is the European equivalent and won't fit a U.S. printer.

HP's new 63/65 line has no high-yield tri-color, and Staples showed the original 65XL tri-color out of stock in October 2026. A 300-page XL tri-color is now mostly something you'll find from refillers and remanufacturers.

How Do I Replace the Ink in the HP ENVY 5014?
- Turn the printer on.
- Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center and stop.
- Press down on the old cartridge to release it, then pull it toward you.
- Pull the plastic tape off the new cartridge without touching the contacts or nozzles.
- Slide it in until it clicks (tri-color on the left, black on the right), close the door and follow the alignment prompt.

Why does it keep going offline?
