Chips, Printer Messages & Installation

Installing: with the printer on, open the front cover; the print head moves to the replacement position. Lift the lock lever for the empty tank, pull the tank out, remove the cap from the new tank and press it into the matching color position until it seats. Close the lever and the cover.

No chip to reset: these StyleWriter printers do not read chips on ink tanks. If print is faint after a tank change, run a cleaning from the Apple printer utility.

Streaks or missing colors: run one or two print head cleanings and let the printer rest between them. The print head stays in the printer, so a fresh tank alone does not renew it.
