About Canon PGI-225 & CLI-226 Ink Cartridges – Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Gray & Sets

Castle Ink sells remanufactured Canon PGI-225 pigment black (4530B001) and CLI-226 black (4546B001), cyan (4547B001), magenta (4548B001), yellow (4549B001) and gray (4550B001) ink cartridges, plus a 5-pack, a 6-pack with gray and a 12-pack. They fit the Canon PIXMA iP4820, iP4920, iX6520, MG5120, MG5220, MG5320, MG6120, MG6220, MG8120, MG8220, MX712, MX882 and MX892; the gray tank is used only by the MG6120, MG6220, MG8120 and MG8220. Each cartridge is a remanufactured original shell, refilled and tested in the U.S. Orders placed by 4 PM ET ship the same business day, shipping is free over $50, and every cartridge is covered by our 1-year 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Canon note: a “the following ink cartridge cannot be recognized” message usually clears by pressing and holding the Stop/Resume button for about 5 seconds; a “non-genuine ink” warning is informational and the printer keeps printing. Keep automatic firmware updates off (why that matters).

Canon PGI-225 & CLI-226 Ink: Common Questions

Which set do I need: 5-pack or 6-pack?

The iP4820, iP4920, iX6520, MG5120, MG5220, MG5320, MX712, MX882 and MX892 use five tanks (PGI-225 black plus CLI-226 black, cyan, magenta, yellow). The MG6120, MG6220, MG8120 and MG8220 add CLI-226 gray, so they need the 6-pack.

What is the difference between PGI-225 and CLI-226 black?

Both are installed at once. PGI-225 is a larger pigment black for text; CLI-226BK is a dye black used in photo printing with the colors.

Which printers use Canon 225 and 226 ink?

Canon PIXMA iP4820, iP4920, iX6520, MG5120, MG5220, MG5320, MG6120, MG6220, MG8120, MG8220, MX712, MX882 and MX892. Our Find Ink by Printer page has a guide for each model.

Will remanufactured cartridges void my printer warranty?

No. Under the U.S. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Canon cannot void your printer warranty just because you used third-party ink or toner. If a cartridge from us ever isn't recognized or prints poorly, contact us and we'll replace or refund it under our 1-year guarantee.
